History

I got my first Bernese in 1987 - an import from Finland with lines from England and Switzerland. Her name was Ch. Bastin Rebecca - and what a bitch she was! Never ill, lived a long life and had a perfect mentality. With this wonderful girl my life-long fascination with the breed started. She gave us four litters and many champions. Most of all, she was an irreplaceable nanny to my four children. I still have Bastin Rebeccas lines, and her contribution to the breed can be felt in many countries in the world. Once a Bernese, always a Bernese. What a gift from Switzerland to the world!

Some results from our breeding:

  • Kennel Milkcreek has champion titles from  25 countries and many specialty winners, in many countries.
  • Kennel Milkcreek received a great honor from the Norwegian Kennel Klub in 2011: Norwegian Kennel Club's Breeders Award for outstanding breeding. We are the only kennel for Bernese Mountain Dog ever to receive this honor. We hope to live up to this honor with every litter we have.
